Changing the Face of Politics
In collaboration with the Islamic Scholarship Fund, we have developed a Scholarship in Afshin's name. Her passion for equality and justice in the media was known by all. She made it her mission to correct any misconceptions about Islam that came her way. She was a strong advocate of eliminating ignorance and took advantage of every opportunity to educate individuals in the way of Islam. She pushed for Islamic books and holidays in the public schools system and hosted local events to ensure that Islam was always represented in a positive light.
Her legacy will forever be our inspiration.

Doing What’s Needed
Islamic Scholarship Fund (ISF) is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization that provides academic scholarship, film grants, congressional internships and workshops to Muslim students in the United States who pursue college and post graduate degrees in media and policy related fields.
ISF's goal is to increase American Muslims presence in media and policy related professions to improve public opinion and policies that negatively impact Muslims in the U.S.

The Afshin Riaz Future Leaders Scholarship was established to increase American Muslim representation in media, politics, and government. It is in place to encourage individuals to follow their passion in liberal and humanitarian studies; to influence and inspire the communities around them and to ensure each respective community is aware of their surroundings and is served justly.
